His Excellency Abubakar Moriki Husaini

His Excellency Abubakar Moriki Husaini was appointed as Nigerian Ambassador to Japan and assumed duty after he had successfully presented his Letter of Credence to His Majesty, the Emperor of Japan on Friday 27th August 2021.

His Excellency Abubakar Moriki Husaini, a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education with 2nd Class Upper Division in 1982. He was at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, United Kingdom (ODG), and obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in 1984 in Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation of the Public Sector. He was also at the University of Jos, Plateau State from 1985 -to 1986, where he graduated with an MSc in Economics. Ambassador Abubakar Moriki Husaini has over Forty(40) years of working experience.

1. Significantly, from March 1989 – to June 1999, he was Assistant General – Commercial with Cement Company of Northern Nigeria Plc, Sokoto.
2. He equally served from June 1999 – Oct. 2003 as Commissioner in various Ministries of Finance & Economic Development, Budget & Economic Planning, Works and Transport, Water Resources, and Rural Development with the Government of Zamfara State.
3. November 2003 – April 2007, he was the Secretary to the State Government of Zamfara State (SSG)
4. He was at the 8th National Assembly, Member of the House of Representatives from June 2015 – to June 2019; where he served as The Chairman, House Committee on Industry.

Other notable Ad-hoc duties performed by His Excellency, Abubakar Moriki Husaini were;
a) Delegate at the National Political Reform Conference (NPRC, Abuja, 2005).
b) Secretary, Northern Delegate General Assembly of the Defunct National Political Reform Conference (Abuja, 2005).
c) Chairman of the State Privatization Committee of Zamfara State.
d) Chairman, Zamfara State Transition Committee 2007. A handing over committee/ among many other important duties.
e) National Treasurer of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) from 2013 – 2015,

Ambassador Abubakar Moriki Husaini’s hobbies include; Football, Basketball, Quranic recitation, Farming and Business Enterprising.

He is the Sardaunan Moriki, Danmasanin Zamfara and Baraden Bazai. He is a known philanthropist in his State of Origin – Zamfara State.
